Sainsbury's shoppers claim an initiative brought in by the supermarket giant is 'making everyone's life harder'. A number of receipt barriers were introduced at some supermarkets last year, with shoppers having to scan their receipts before leaving.
The move led to threats of boycotting by some shoppers, but they have now been added to more branches across the UK, Manchester Evening News reports. Shoppers took to Reddit to voice their frustration over the barriers.
One said: "Not a fan of how this is spreading...". A fellow shopper added: "Pointless waste of money and time, just makes everyone’s life harder."
