Sainsbury’s has delighted shoppers after releasing a beauty product fans are comparing to a premium brand.
The supermarket is a firm favourite for many Liverpool shoppers, often being praised for its groceries and homeware - and now, its beauty products. People have taken to TikTok to share the retailer’s Source of Nature Nourishing Cleansing Balm.
On the social media platform, many people have been quick to compare the product Elemis’ Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. Both cleansing balms feature similar designs and smell like eucalyptus.

Sainsbury’s product, priced at £4, is lightly scented with naturally inspired fragrances and combined with natural oils and extracts. It is 100% vegan and fully recyclable.
The Elemis product “nourishes as a balm, easily removes makeup as a cleansing oil and hydrates as a cleansing milk”, according to the website. It features a blend of nine essential oils including lavender, chamomile and eucalyptus. It is priced at £46.
Both products are used in the same way - by applying the balm to a dry face and then rising off with warm water or a cloth. Many shoppers have shared the Sainsbury’s product online as an alternative to the premium brand.
Among the comments on TikTok, one person said: “Sainsburys have out done themselves”. A second wrote: “Oh yes baby get me to Sainsbury’s!!”
Another added: “I bought this last week…amazing. Used to use Body Shop camomile but I’m converted, great price, great product.”
Shoppers opting for Sainsbury’s similar dupe could save around £42. You can shop the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm here and the Sainsbury’s Source of Nature Nourishing Cleansing Balm here.
