Sainsbury's shoppers floored after seeing 'astronomical' cost of pack of fish fingers

Sainsbury's shoppers spoke of their shock after seeing packs of fish fingers priced at a whopping £7.

One customer remarked they nearly "fell to their knees" when they saw the cost in a Sainsbury's store. This comes after food prices have been rising in all supermarkets over the past few months.

Lurpak butter has been a particular point of conversation recently, with prices for a single packet reaching as much as £7 a tub. Now fish fingers have become a matter for discussion. One shopper took to Twitter after spotting a packet of Birds Eye 30 Cod Fish Fingers (total 840g) marked at £7 at the supermarket.

The shopper wrote: “Nearly fell to my knees in de people food establishment.” And others also shared their disbelief, reports MyLondon. One person said: “ £7? Jesus soon reach.”

A third commented: “I remember when this was £3.50. Wow.” A fourth replied: “Sainsbury’s absolutely bugging.” And another commented: "This can't be real."

Some even shared their shock at what other products were costing them, with someone explaining: “I paid £3.80 for @Warburtons gluten free wraps yesterday- it would be cheaper to live off mc ds at this rate. There’s 5 wraps in there. Sickening.”

One person worked out each finger would come to a total of 23 pence, asking: “23p each is bad???” Sainsbury's has been approached for comment.
