Sainsbury's is helping shoppers to save even more money by expanding its newly launched Nectar Prices scheme to cover even more products.
The supermarket chain recently became the latest major retailer to launch a loyalty scheme in a bid to help shoppers make major savings both in-store and online. Exclusively available for Nectar cardholders, the scheme promised to lower the price of hundreds of products.
Now, the supermarket has expanded the initiative to cover even more product ranges in a bid to help households get in their essentials ahead of the May bank holiday weekend.
According to the Big Four Grocer, Nectar members can now expect to find major savings across a variety of household products and cupboard staples. Discounts can be found on popular brands, such as Kellogg's, Cadbury's, Robinsons, Heinz and Fairy, with select products available for half-price.
If you're planning a BBQ to enjoy the sunshine, then you can grab a 1L bottle of Pimm's that has been slashed from £22 to just £10, saving Nectar members a whopping 55 percent.
Other summer picnic and BBQ essentials that you can find for less is the Heinz Seriously Good Mayonnaise which has been reduced from £3.40 to £2.25. Meanwhile, a bag of Doritos Cool Original are down from £2.25 to £1.25.
Nectar members can also find savings on cupboard staples such as Kellogg's Special K Red Berries Breakfast Cereal which is down from £2.50 to £3.30 and Loyd Grossman pasta sauces which are reduced from £3 to £1.50.
Sainsbury's launched its exclusive member pricing initiative earlier month in a move that was said to take direct aim at Tesco's popular Clubcard loyalty scheme.
Nectar members can access the exclusive discounts in-store and online by swiping their card, or by linking their card to their Sainsbury's account. Products included in the price-drop scheme are clearly marked with a "Nectar Prices" label.
Sainsbruy's are not the only supermarket to have launched exclusive discounts for members, as the Co-op has also recently launched its own loyalty scheme.
The Co-op Membership is said to cost just £1 to sign-up and will provide members with personalised discounts via the Co-op app.
