CAMDEN, N.J.— By definition (the Merriam-Webster one, anyway) to sacrifice is to give up or lose something of value for the sake of something else. But everyone’s own personal definition of what it means to sacrifice is different—and how much they’re willing to sacrifice varies drastically, no matter the situation.
In sports, sacrifice and winning are inseparable concepts. This year’s 76ers team will learn that to an extreme degree after Philadelphia’s wild offseason—and it was apparent at media day that the whole roster, from the superstars to role players, understood that.
