Sacha Baron Cohen has responded to calls for a boycott of his new Ali G film by impersonating an activist who wants audiences to seek permission before laughing.

The comedian shared the sketch on Instagram on 7 October, turning criticism of Ali G: Who Iz I? into another character performance. His caption urged viewers not to judge a film by its trailer. The intervention comes ahead of the film's scheduled UK cinema release on 23 October.
