Ryan Tubridy sent warm wishes live on air to Toy Show star Saoirse Ruane as she travelled to Dublin for hospital treatment.
The RTE presenter addressed Saoirse's recent health struggles on his show earlier this week. The 10-year-old has spoken candidly in the past about her battle with osteosarcoma, a rare bone cancer which resulted in the loss of her leg.
Saoirse's mother took to Instagram in recent days to share the difficult news that her daughter had been diagnosed with a new tumour, which would require further medical treatment. Ryan took to the airwaves of his RTE Radio One show to wish Saoirse the best of luck and asked listeners for a simple favour on her behalf.

Ryan told RTE listeners: "“I just want to wish her every bit of love and happiness. If you are off this week for Easter and want to make a card for Saoirse, it's very easy. Just make one and send it to Saoirse Ruane, Kiltullagh, Co Galway, and it will land on her breakfast table."
People were clearly receptive to his request following an update from Saoirse's mother. Roseanna posted a photo of a smiling Saoirse in the family's car, laden down with letters.
Roseanna wrote on Instagram: "A lot of love in our letter box today. Ryan Tubridy you asked and everyone listened. Look at that smile."
Saoirse first touched the hearts of the nation after appearing on the Late Late Toy Show in 2020. The young Galway girl had been making strides in her recovery prior to her latest diagnosis and had even returned to playing camogie.
Her mother confirmed on social media that Saoirse would undergo further scans in Crumlin Children's Hospital this week. A medical team will then come up with a plan for her treatment going forward.
