Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy has made a request for Toy Show star Saoirse Ruane after her family’s recent heartbreaking update.
Tubridy was first introduced to Saoirse on the Toy Show, where she told of being diagnosed with osteosarcoma in December 2019 and having her right leg amputated in March 2020.
He sent out his best wishes for the young girl and asked listeners to do one thing, RSVP Live reported.

Live on RTE Radio One show, he said: “Let me say good morning to Saoirse, my friend, who is sitting in her car now, heading to Dublin with her family.
“She’s probably going, ‘Oh, my goodness, what the hell is he doing? He’s embarrassing me!’
“I just want to wish her every bit of love and happiness and hopefully news is good and that you are well and minded and loved and looked after, as I know you are.”
He requested that listeners make a card for Saoirse and address it to Saoirse Ruane, Kiltullagh, Co Galway.
Her mother, Roseanna, gave some heartbreaking news on Saoirse's health on Sunday, saying they have hit "another bump in the road" which they learned on a visit to Crumlin hospital.
"Saoírse has been in great health and looks better than ever. She returned to camogie only a month ago and was really enjoying it.
"When we arrived in Crumlin I knew Ollie (Saoirse's father) was apprehensive but I felt everything was ok.
"I said my rosary in the car on route and while Ollie went into the CT scan with her, I continued the prayers as did he."
The radiologist requested that a further X-Ray on Saoirse's chest be done.
"I text Ollie asking “what’s going on” to which he replied “I don’t know!” Little did we know our world was about to fall apart ALL OVER AGAIN. The consultant caught my eye through a glass panel and politely asked me into his office on my own."
The consultant informed her that there on the X-Ray was a third recurrent tumour.
"To say we’re devastated just doesn’t cover it. She’s been to war so many times, she’s fought so hard, it’s so unfair. Saoírse’s words on hearing this news “why me, why is my life so horrible.
"It’s a horrible feeling, that heart wrenching feeling of “deja vu”, disbelief, shock, physically wanting to vomit & feeling numb. Comforting her but not being able to protect her breaks us.
She informed that the family were to travel to Crumlin again to put a plan together.
"We ask you to please keep Saoírse in your prayers. The Ruanes x."
