RTE Late Late Show presenter Ryan Tubridy shocked the nation when he revealed he would be stepping down from the role next month.
He has fronted the long-running chat show for the last 14 years and will host his last show on May 26, days before marking his milestone 50th birthday.
Speculation has been mounting about who will replace Ryan, with a number of presenters emerging as possible contenders.

Among them is Virgin Media’s Ciara Doherty, who bookies say is attracting growing support this week.
BoyleSports has been forced to cut The Tonight Show co-host into 16/1 from 50/1 for the RTE hot seat.
The Donegal woman is the latest name to make a move up the betting since news broke about Ryan’s departure.
BoyleSports spokesperson Sarah Kinsella said: “Ciara Doherty has years of experience and support is steadily growing for her to take over from Ryan Tubridy. It’s all about the ladies in the betting, but Patrick Kielty is right in the mix now too as the most likely male.”
Only four names are ahead of Ciara in the list of likely successors, according to the latest odds. These include Claire Byrne (4/11) and Sarah McInerney (7/2).
Comedian Patrick Kielty meanwhile has entered the picture at 16/1 following a spike in requests from punters and is currently rated as the most likely man to land the role.
The Co Down man’s wife Cat Deely said earlier this week that he would make a great Late Late Show host, adding that he would do a “phenomenal job.”
