Former Blackburn Rovers hero Morten Gamst Pedersen has said he'd "love to" return to the UK to prolong his career with Wrexham.
The Norway international, who played more than 250 times in the Premier League, is still going strong at 41. He has spent the last nine years back in his homeland and is currently on the books of second-tier Ranheim. He wouldn't be the first veteran to rock up at the Racecourse Ground, with goalkeeper Ben Foster coming out of retirement to join the team earlier this year.
Foster produced a match-winning penalty save against Notts County to help Wrexham seal promotion back to the Football League after 15 years away, but they won't just be looking to survive next term. With the backing of Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, further squad investment is expected, and Pedersen has opened the door to a move.
"It's unbelievable what they are doing," Pedersen told SportBible. "I think it's so cool. Yes, they get promoted and everything, but they are also building a brand from a club that's quite far down in the system.
"It shows that if you get the right people and the right attitude, and everybody drags in the same direction, you can do a lot. Aren't they the second-oldest club in the UK as well? They have a great history.
"Yeah, I would love to [play there]. Why not?" he added. "Of course. Maybe if you tag me in a social media post, Ryan Reynolds could read this, and we get a chance to meet…"

Goalkeeper Foster faces an uncertain future, having only joined Wrexham on a short-term deal running until the end of the 2022-23 season. The club will hold talks with the former England international, though, to determine whether he plans to prolong his career.
"We won the league and did what we needed to do," the former Man Utd and Watford keeper said after helping his team win promotion. "I did what I needed to do anyway.
"This is a special club. Am I going to do another year? Oh my god I do not know. I'm genuinely going to have to think about this, it's as simple as that.
"I've never felt this much love or welcomed as much as I have here at Wrexham. I've really enjoyed my eight games, we'll see as simple as that."
Wrexham announced their retained list after the conclusion of the campaign, with 11 out-of-contract players not offered new deals. However, a number of senior stars have seen their deals extended after promotion, including top scorer Paul Mullin.
