Ryan Jack's apology to Rangers fans after Celtic and Ajax defeats as he calls on 'fight' from squad

Ryan Jack has issued an apology to the travelling Rangers support as he discussed the importance of showing 'fight' against Aberdeen.

The Light Blues suffered a second consecutive defeat by four goals as Ajax outclassed Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men in their Champions League opener. The Dutch giants raced into a three goal advantage inside the opening 35 minutes and added a fourth late on to inflict another heavy defeat on the Ibrox side.

The defeat in Amsterdam came off the back of a hammering by rivals Celtic by the same scoreline last weekend - with Jack admitting two big defeats on the trot does affect players personally, individually and collectively. The experienced midfielder knows they let a lot of people down with the display on matchday one but says it is vital they now get ready for the test they face at Pittodrie and get that all important win.

Speaking to BT Sport, he said: "Obviously when you lose two four-nils on the bounce it does affect you personally, individually and collectively.

"But, that's for us in the changing room to stick together, the staff as well, we'll all stick together and we'll fight our way through it.

"It's important we come out on Saturday and show a lot of fight about us. Obviously we have let a lot of people down tonight.

"We apologise to the fans who sacrificed to make this trip and come support us. All we can do is apologise, move on and hopefully come Saturday we are ready to get the win."
