According to a post on X, exams and academic activities planned before noon on the College Avenue campus were postponed, while some exams scheduled for the afternoon were relocated. Students were advised to check with their respective departments and instructors for information on exam locations.
Rutgers University's spring exams were originally set to commence on the same day and conclude on May 8, as per the academic calendar.
Students for Justice in Palestine, a group at Rutgers in New Brunswick, had organized an encampment at the university's Voorhees Mall starting on Monday. On Thursday, participants in the encampment sought community support, expressing concerns about an increased police presence and perceived pressure from the university administration.
