Russian state TV in chilling suggestion Macron should have been bombed in Kyiv

Russian state TV has mocked French and German leaders for visiting Kyiv with one hardline MP shockingly claiming the Kremlin should have targeted them with bombs.

Pro-Putin propagandist TV anchor Yevgeny Popov ridiculed the briefing held by the leaders Emmanuel Macron and Olaf Scholz, along with Italian premier Mario Draghi, as proof that there was no war but only a limited Russian military operation in Ukraine.

Showing footage from Kyiv, he said: “The briefing of all these European leaders and Zelensky begins…

“Right opposite the [parliament] in Kyiv, close to Bankovaya. Not that I am giving coordinates for [bombing]…”

Nationalist MP Aleksey Zhuravlyov asked: “And why not…?”

Popov - also a pro-Kremlin MP - replied: “No, no, of course not.

“My point is that Kyiv is an absolutely safe city. This is an open site.”

He claimed the air raid sirens that accompanied the leaders’ visit were staged for the European media.

“Of course, they arranged for a theatre-like siren, which wasn’t followed by a single shot,” he said.

“It’s a live broadcast, and none of them is threatened.

“And they are saying this is a war. A war, they say.”

Popov insisted it was “[only] a special operation, not a war”.

He said: “If this was a war, there would be no live broadcast from here .”

The Mirror yesterday told of the plight of two British fighters sentenced to death by a sham court for fighting in Ukraine who a Russian politician claimed will be shot with guns and bullets from the UK.

Aiden Aslin, 28, and Shaun Pinner, 48, along with Moroccan Sadun Brahim, 21, were captured during the attempted defence of Mariupol.

The Brits appeared in court in the separatist Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and will appeal against the barbaric sentence.

Another British detainee Andrew Hill, 35, a father of four from Plymouth, has also been warned to expect the death penalty when his verdict is handed down.

MP Aleksey Zhuravlyov, deputy chairman of the Russian parliament’s defence committee, told Rossiya 1 state TV the DPR intends to execute them with British weapons and bullets.

He said: “I like the way the DPR is performing their international obligations.

“As I was told…the shooting will be performed with a British weapon, and a British bullet.

“And then this bullet will be sent to the British relatives who will be made to pay for it. In roubles…converting from pounds.”

The hardline MP hit back: “Why mockery? No mockery, we need just to finish these bastards off.

“Without any negotiations. No need even to mock them. I saw what they are doing with my own eyes, personally so I have no mercy for them.

“All those b******s who came here from Britain must be eliminated. Do you want them to be liquidated with your British weapon?"
