Russian authorities have declared a local state of emergency in the Saratov region after a Ukrainian drone left an airfield at a military base engulfed in flames.
The Russian-led Engels base, which is located around 435 miles from the front line, reportedly hosts the country’s Tupolev Tu-160 nuclear-capable heavy strategic bombers and has been used to launch Russian military planes throughout the war.
