A recent video footage captured a chilling scene of a Russian missile attack in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. The attack, carried out with a new hypersonic missile called the 'Oreshnik,' showcased the weapon's devastating power and speed. Russian President Vladimir Putin proudly boasted about the missile, claiming it travels at 10 times the speed of sound and is immune to missile defense systems.

The Oreshnik, based on Russia's RS-26 Rubezh intercontinental ballistic missile, is capable of carrying nuclear or conventional warheads and has a range that can reach any European target. This attack marked the first use of an experimental intermediate-range ballistic missile in a war, signaling a significant escalation in the conflict.

The missile's six warheads, each carrying six submunitions, were designed to deliver a destructive force equivalent to tons of explosives. The attack, while causing no fatalities, left a trail of destruction at the military facility in Dnipro.

Russia has employed a variety of missiles in its ongoing invasion of Ukraine, including long-range cruise missiles, drones, and short-range ballistic missiles. However, the Oreshnik stands out for its unmatched speed, power, and multiple warheads, making it a formidable weapon on the battlefield.

Putin's message with the Oreshnik is clear: a warning to Western nations and NATO allies that Russia will not hesitate to use its advanced weaponry to defend its interests. The missile's ability to strike targets in Europe within minutes has raised concerns about the potential for catastrophic damage and the need for heightened security measures.

The use of the Oreshnik reflects Moscow's growing assertiveness and willingness to escalate tensions with the West. As global leaders monitor the situation closely, the implications of Russia's hypersonic missile capabilities on international security remain a cause for concern.
