The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Monday, May 1, along with a statement claiming they show ‘combat work of the crews of the T-72b3 tank of the Southern Military District on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the zone of the Northern Military District.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said, “The Russian Defense Ministry publishes footage of the combat work of the T-72b3m tank crews of the Southern Military District during a special military operation, which carry out the tasks of destroying firing points, fortified positions and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

Small-sized unmanned aerial vehicles are used to search, identify targets and adjust fire. All received information about the positions of the enemy, the movements of equipment are transmitted to the tank crews.

“Tankers advance to the indicated area and, in accordance with the received target designations, deliver pinpoint strikes on the enemy, who has equipped firing points in dilapidated buildings in settlements abandoned by residents, destroy enemy armored vehicles and personnel.”

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a ‘special military operation’.

The result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine turned into consequence for the Russian nation. The Russian national soccer team was kicked out of the World Cup tournament, cut off the Nord Stream pipeline, and eight Russian banks cut from SWIFT.

The United States imposed sanctions on Russia that including going after assets of Russian oligarchs. Russian President Vladimir Putin was sanctioned by the U.S. under President Joe Biden.

Drones had recently attacked the Kremlin in Moscow on Wednesday describing it as an attempt on Putin’s life. The Kremlin claimed the United States and Ukraine were behind the attack as both drones were shot down. Both governments had denied any involvement in the attack.

“Attempts to disown this both in Kyiv and in Washington are, of course, absolutely ridiculous,” said Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Kremlin. “We know very well that decisions on such actions and such terrorist attacks are made not in Kyiv but in Washington.”

Putin and his cabinet have stated to the media that Russia is at war with NATO. Finland was accepted in to NATO as Sweden is pending confirmation.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied any involvement in attacking the Kremlin.

“We are fighting on our own territory, defending our villages and cities,” Zelenskyy said about the attack on the Kremlin. “We do not have enough weapons even for this. That is why we do not use them elsewhere. We have a deficit. We cannot use everything and everywhere.”

The United States has been the major weapon supplier to Ukraine as it continues to defend its land from Russia.
