Russell Brand trial told comedian had ‘big grin’ like a ‘clown’ before alleged rape

  • A third accuser told the court that Brand grabbed her breasts before dragging her into a public toilet to force her to perform a sex act at a Soho bar in July 2004.
  • In a police video played to the jury, the woman described Brand having a 'big grin' like a 'clown' and ignoring her pleas to stop during the alleged attack.
  • Giving evidence behind a screen, the accuser strongly rejected defence suggestions that she accompanied Brand voluntarily, insisting she was dragged against her will.
  • The woman explained she delayed reporting the alleged attack until 2023 due to feelings of shame and the belief it would be her word against his within the 'laddish culture' of the era.
