Russell Brand: Five of the allegations heard on first day of rape and sex assault trial

  1. The court heard allegations that Brand raped a woman in a hotel room after the 1999 Labour Party conference in Bournemouth, with his then-flatmate testifying that Brand insisted they leave town immediately after the alleged incident.
  2. Allegations involving workplaces were detailed, including an MTV worker who was forcefully grabbed by Brand in 2001, and a radio station employee who was aggressively kissed and groped against a wall around 2004 or 2005.
  3. A third complainant alleged that Brand grabbed her breasts in a Soho bar in July 2004 before pulling her into a toilet and orally raping her despite her explicit refusal.
  4. Another woman alleged Brand raped her at his Hampstead home following a prior consensual encounter, revealing in court that Brand later replied 'I'm sorry' after she messaged him saying he had treated her like an animal.
  5. A Channel 4 worker alleged Brand sexually assaulted her during a 2009 filming project by placing his head directly into her groin area after she was told he needed a massage. Brand denies all charges – the trial continues.
