In the mid-1980s, a revolutionary partnership between legendary rap group Run-DMC and Adidas took the music and fashion world by storm. The group, comprised of Joseph 'Rev Run' Simmons, Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels, and the late Jam Master Jay, popularized an iconic sneaker style that became synonymous with their image - no laces.

'I'm wearing Adidas right now,' he proudly stated. 'They're loosely fitting, but they do have laces. I'm 59 years old.'
