If you have ever wondered why we don't often get to see our favourite Gogglebox stars hanging out together, the mystery has been solved.
An ex-Gogglebox star has lifted the lid on the show, explaining there is a bizarre rule families must follow if they wish to stay on the programme.
The explanation was shared by Tom Malone Junior in a recent Instagram Q&A, as The Sun reports.

While the 26-year-old dancer quit the show in February 2021, he is no stranger to its famous sofas. Tom spent six years on the show after joining back in 2014, with his mum Julie, dad Tom Senior, and brother Shaun.
During a question and answer session to catch up with his fans, Tom was asked: "Do you stay in touch with anyone from Gogglebox other than your family?"
He replied: "So the weird thing with Gogglebox is, if you're on the show, you're not allowed to meet up with anyone else that is on the show, unless it's like an awards show that you're invited to or something.
"I still speak to a few people on social media and I still speak to all the crew and stuff...
"And see my mum and dad sometimes..."
The social media influencer left the show to seek new opportunities. Tom penned an emotional goodbye last year, when announcing his exit. He wrote: "So after 6 and a half years it’s finally time to put down the remote, and to say goodbye to Gogglebox. [TV emoji]
"I've loved every minute and I’m eternally grateful to @channel4 and @studiolambert for allowing me to be a part of the show. But new opportunities are knocking on the door and it’s time to explore them."
