Rugby fans hoping to catch a few moments with the Wales squad on Saturday have said they were blown away by the kindness and generosity of the Australian team. Welsh rugby enthusiasts both at the Principality Stadium and at home found themselves shocked after a disappointing second half performance in the match over the weekend that saw the Wallabies scoring 26 unanswered points after trailing 34-13 with just 23 minutes to go. One fan who made a six-hour trip from Norfolk to see the boys in red waited forty minutes after the game hoping to meet the players but said the Australian team were the "real winners" as they took time to meet with them. Aingeal Durham-Hall, 37, who lives in Norfolk and grew up in Wales sees at least one game each year to support her team.
After the game, Aingeal and her 20-year-old stepson Josh waited on the front row near the middle of the pitch hoping to meet the players or watch them walk around the pitch applauding fans, something she said is common at the Six Nations or Autumn International games she usually goes to. Despite being "desperate to see the boys regardless of the results", Aingeal said they were disappointed to not get the opportunity to meet some of the squad.
