Southampton boss Ruben Selles has claimed that his side "need to fight the relegation battle" despite their recent run of form as they still sit in last place, one point behind Leeds United.
Leeds are the only top-flight side to claim victory against the Saints over the course of their last four matches. Javi Gracia's first match in charge saw the Whites win 1-0 at Elland Road against the south coast club, a result that has blotched an otherwise impressive month of results for Southampton.
Based purely on the last four matches alone, the Saints would be sat sixth in the table thanks to victories over Chelsea, Leicester and a draw with Manchester United most recently on Sunday afternoon. But Selles has now claimed that he pays no attention to any form tables as he focuses on Southampton's remaining 12 games, starting with Brentford's trip to St Mary's on Wednesday night.
