RTE viewers have praised Hughie Maughan after he slammed the racist abuse that the travelling community face on a daily basis.
The Dublin man's comments were part of an open discussion on Claire Byrne's Live.
The special show was held on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Hughie opened up about the struggles he has faced as a member of the travelling community.
He said that the abuse he faces online and in person but not be tolerated if it was targeted at any other section of society.
Fans took to Twitter to applaud Hughie for his honestly. Many felt that tonight's conversation on Claire Byrne Live was long overdue.
