RTE star Sarah McInerney has jokingly shared a tweet linking her with the RTE Late Late Show just days after Ryan Tubridy stepped aside from his role as host.
The current Drivetime presenter hinted at her chances with a screenshot showing that the RTE Late Late Show account had followed her on Twitter in the wake of the Tubridy bombshell.
Bookies initially had McInerney as an outside bet at 20/1 but RTE producers seemed to boost those odds with the timely follow as her odds of getting the hotseat now sit at 4/1.

It's surprising that RTE social media team hadn't already followed McInerney with the Late Late Show account - and the time they chose to follow the no-nonsense journalist and broadcaster is noteworhty.
McInerney shared the news of the new follower to Twitter with an enigmatic eyes emoji and a laugh emoji - clearly the Galway native also found the timing to be interesting, to say the least.
Tommy Tiernan is another name in the frame for the job but his odds have drifted from 4/1 to 10/1 in recent days, suggesting he might be out of the running.
Daithi O Se, Claire Byrne and Miriam O'Callaghan are other names linked with the job.
On Friday night's show, Ryan Tubridy wished his replacement luck, adding, "whoever she may be," hinting that RTE will go with a female host for the first time.
