RTE legend Charlie Bird has said his voice is nearly completely gone as his condition begins to worsen.
The veteran broadcaster was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year and has again update followers on social media as to how he's getting on.
He tweeted on Tuesday alongside a video with his dog: "Someone found this on Twitter recently.
"I put it up a few years ago..In a way it is a stark reminder of how far I have now traveled.
"Today my voice is almost gone. But thankfully Tiger can still sing. I will still be climbing Croagh Patrick on April 2nd."
The former Washington correspondent said recently: "Just think of all the people who have terminal illnesses – I am climbing Croagh Patrick for every one of them.
"I’m also climbing Croagh Patrick in a way for everybody in this country, we have all gone through hell because of the pandemic."
