Miriam O'Callaghan has been installed as the early favourite to take over the Late Late Show.
Ryan Tubridy's decision to leave the show took everyone by surprise this morning - less than two weeks ago, he squashed rumours he was thinking about quitting. But after this morning's announcement, Tubridy's RTE colleague and former Saturday night host Miriam has been placed as the frontrunner at evens by Boylesports.
Brendan O'Connor sits second at 5/2, while Claire Byrne, who recently stepped back from the Monday night slot, is being backed at 6/1. Current Saturday night host Tommy Tiernan is also a popular choice at 6/1.

Other names in the mix include Irish comedian and RTE 2 star Jennifer Zamparelli at 8/1, as well as radio host Ray D’Arcy at 12/1.
A spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Tubridy has taken us all by surprise by hanging up his Late Late hat and no doubt all of telly’s favourites will be jockeying for position for the top job! Miriam remains our favourite at Even money, but Dancing With The Stars host Jen Zamparelli is RTE’s jewel in the crown and could be a good outside bet.”
