Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane was not best pleased with being compared to Ted Lasso character Roy Kent during Sky Sports' coverage of Liverpool's 7-0 win over Manchester United.
Ahead of the third season of the American television series being released later this month, a promotional clip from the programme comparing Keane and AFC Richmond captain-turned-coach Kent aired during the pre-match build-up to Sunday's Premier League contest. Ted Lasso co-creator Brendan Hunt has previously explained that the similarities between the two are deliberate, saying he was fascinated by the player when getting into football in the early 2000s.
Keane was a part of the studio coverage at Anfield alongside Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville and Graeme Souness. Presenter Kelly Cates was also anchoring the programme and was the first to speculate about the clip.

"Just wondering if anyone else sees it," Cates ponders before turning to Keane and adding: "The resemblance. Roy?" With a smirk, he replied: "To me? You're joking! I'm a lot nicer than him. You know that; tell the truth."
Cates continued: "He [Brett Goldstein] got an Emmy for that performance which is ridiculous because he was only doing his job," referring to Keane's infamous 'do your job' comments. Souness soon chimed in, adding, "I've never seen it, but I will now."
Flanking the pair, Carragher and Neville could hardly keep their composure from their front-row seats pitchside at Anfield.
