Roy Hodgson delivers brutal verdict on Manchester United's biggest problem after Watford draw

Watford manager Roy Hodgson has highlighted the key problem at Manchester United this season following his side's 0-0 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Elanga all squandered great opportunities to open the scoring in the stalemate.

The result means that the Hornets have taken four points off United this season having beaten them 4-1 at Vicarage Road earlier in the campaign.

Speaking after the match, Hodgson highlighted exactly what United's biggest problem is.

"It was always going to be hard-fought for teams like ourselves here," he told the club's website.

"We held our own exceptionally well. I wasn't thinking they were going to score every time they had the ball.

"We should be fighting for our lives on the pitch. The attitude of the team was outstanding.

"They had quite a lot of the ball around our area, but they didn't create a myriad of chances, although Ben Foster dealt with the best of what they did carve out."

United remain in the top four despite their failure to convert their chances on Saturday.

However, Arsenal are just two points behind with three games in hand, while Tottenham could also leapfrog them if they were to win their games in hand.
