AHMEDABAD: Social rights activists , Teesta Setalvad, on Sunday alleged that she was roughed up and manhandled by a team of Gujarat police and also showed bruises on her hand.
When she was taken to a magisterial court, she told before the reporters that she was not a criminal. When a woman cops was trying to hold her hand to escort her to the court, she told her also, “Do not hold me. I am not a criminal.” In the court also, she submitted that she was manhandled by the cops. After which, she was taken to VS Hospital for medical examination.
On Saturday, Setalvad had submitted a plea before the Santacruz police of Mumbai when she was picked up by a team of Guajrat ATS alleging that two cops assaulted her when she was asking them to allow her to talk to her lawyer.
Setalvad was brought to Ahmedabad city from Mumbai via road and she reached at the city crime branch office early on Sunday morning in a police vehicle.
