Rosalía to Receive Billboard Hall of Fame Award at 2026 Latin Music Awards

Rosalía will receive the Billboard Hall of Fame Award at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards, adding another major career honor to a year that has seen the Spanish star extend her reach far beyond the Latin pop category.

The singer will attend the Oct. 22 ceremony at Miami's James L. Knight Center to accept the award in person, according to an announcement released Wednesday. The show will air live at 8 p.m. ET on Telemundo and Peacock, with blue-carpet coverage beginning an hour earlier.

The Hall of Fame honor recognizes artists whose careers have moved beyond commercial success into broader cultural influence, particularly across genres, languages and international markets. Past recipients have included major figures in Latin music whose work has reshaped the industry over time.

For Rosalía, the recognition comes after another ambitious chapter in a career built on reinvention.

Her 2018 breakthrough album "El Mal Querer" transformed her from a critically acclaimed Spanish artist into an international name, largely because of the way she combined flamenco structures and imagery with experimental pop and electronic production.

She pushed that approach even further with "Motomami" in 2022. The album became her first project to enter the all-genre Billboard 200, debuting inside the top 40, and reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Latin Pop Albums chart. It went on to spend 25 weeks at the top between 2022 and 2023, while its accompanying world tour sold out venues across multiple continents.

Rather than repeat that formula, Rosalía changed direction again with "LUX," released in 2025.

The album gave her the highest Billboard 200 debut of her career, entering at No. 4. Billboard chart data confirms "LUX" opened inside the top five of the all-genre chart, a major crossover milestone for the Catalan singer.

According to the award announcement, "LUX" also debuted at No. 1 on five Billboard charts: Top Latin Albums, Top Latin Pop Albums, Classical Albums, Classical Crossover Albums and World Albums.

That unusual combination of chart placements reflects the central idea behind Rosalía's recent work. She has increasingly treated genre as something fluid rather than fixed, moving between Latin pop, flamenco, orchestral music, experimental production and classical influences without abandoning the visual and conceptual ambition that has defined her career.

The album also generated notable global chart activity beyond the project itself. "La Perla," her collaboration with Yahritza y Su Esencia, debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard Global 200, while "Berghain," featuring Björk and Yves Tumor, also entered the global chart.

Rosalía recently completed the "LUX" tour, which the award announcement said included 57 sold-out dates.

The Hall of Fame award will place her among the headline honorees of this year's Billboard Latin Music Awards. Rubén Blades has already been announced as the recipient of the 2026 Billboard Icon Award.

The awards ceremony itself will close out Billboard Latin Music Week, which runs in Miami from Oct. 19 through Oct. 22. Telemundo says the event will once again recognize artists, albums and songs based on performance across Billboard's charts, including sales, streaming, radio airplay and social data.

This year's finalists include Bad Bunny, Peso Pluma, Tito Double P, Fuerza Regida, Karol G and Prince Royce among the most-nominated artists.
