World champion Ronnie O’Sullivan will miss the European Masters with injury and has warned it could be two months before he's back in snooker action.
In a blow to organisers, it was confirmed on Wednesday that 'The Rocket' will be absent from The Masters, which kicks off in Furth in Germany on August 16. His management team stated that O'Sullivan is dealing with tennis elbow and as a result, has been unable to practice.
In May, the world No 1 captured a record-equalling seventh World Championship crown, beating Judd Trump in the final at The Crucible. And he'll be widely backed to move one title clear of Stephen Hendry when he returns to Sheffield in 2023.
