Xbox Game Pass is getting three big hitters to cap off a bumper November of new game additions.
Critically acclaimed titles Rollerdrome, SteamWorld Build, and Dune: Spice Wars will arrive on the game subscription service tomorrow (November 28). That should give subscribers plenty of entertainment for the chribreak following the inclusion of Wild Hearts, Football Manager 2024 and Jusant earlier this month.
This year has been packed with great releases, so we won’t blame you for overlooking these gems.
To refresh your memory, Rollerdrome is a skate-and-shoot action game in which players face off against waves of human and robot enemies. The titular bloodsport at its core clearly takes its cues from cult sci-fi flicks like Rollerball and The Running Man. While the visuals are reminiscent of a Moebius comic, much like fellow indie game Sable before it. Rollerdrome was heaped with praise upon its release late last year and even won a Bafta Games Award for Best British Game.
Dune: Spice Wars, on the other hand, comes in the wake of Denis Villeneuve’s hit adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic galactic space opera. Thanks to its heady mix of politics and duplicity, the novel makes great fodder for a real-time strategy game.
Finally, Steamworld Build essentially puts a city builder on top of a dungeon crawler to solid effect For a series that has been around since 2010, Steamworld has proven itself more than adept at switching to different genres. This time around, you start off building a mining town populated by the usual cast of robots, only to venture underground to battle monsters in the second half.
With loads of new games arriving on Game Pass this month, Microsoft also recently revealed which titles would be departing soon. Anvil: Vault Breaker, Disc Room, Eastward, Grid, Battlefield 1943, Battlefield: Bad Company, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will all leave Game Pass and/or EA Play on November 30.
