A robber in Greenwich ambushed three men before stealing a Rolex watch and escaping.
The victims were jumped from behind and two were hit over the head with a heavy object in the vicious attack on Sunday.
The robber, described as white and bearded wearing a Nike T-shirt, targeted the men in their 20s on Millennium Way at 10.30pm.
Police are warning others to beware in case the thug strikes again.
A police statement said: “At around 22:30hrs on Sunday, 27 October, three men, aged 20s, were walking on Millennium Way, Greenwich, when they were attacked from behind by a man armed with a heavy object - possibly a gas cannister.
“Two of the victims suffered head injuries while the third managed to escape unharmed and called police.
“A Rolex watch was stolen from one of the victims.”
The attacker is described as a white man with a beard. At the time of the attack he was wearing a white Nike T-shirt.
