Rod Stewart is set to become a grandfather again - after his singer daughter announced she is pregnant.
Ruby Stewart is the fourth of the rock and pop legend's eight children and has dueted with her father on a number of occasions in the past. Earlier today she announced on Instagram that she is expecting her first child later this year.
Ruby is the daughter of former model Kelly Emberg, who was married to the musician between 1983 and 1990. Ruby is also a fashion model and singer who was born and brought up in Los Angeles, California.
She was a lingerie model for Ultimo in an advertising campaign for lingerie sold in Asda.
She broke the news on her @rubystewart account, where she has over 44,000 followers, prompting a flurry of well wishes from friends and family. She posted a scan video, clearly shot from a hospital monitor screen, which displayed her name, age and the date of the scan, which appeared to be in October.
The video showed the baby moving around in the womb, and seemed to show it turning round. The 35-year-old posted alongside the video: "Out of all of the things that happened in 2022 you were by far the most beautiful…We can’t wait to meet you…Baby boy Kalick coming in April…"
Model Rachel Hunter, one of Rod's ex's wives, was one of the first to send her love and congratulations. She wrote: "You are going to be an incredible Mum."
Rod's current wife, Penny Lancaster, who will be the baby's step-grandmother, also revelled in the news. She posted: "Can’t wait to meet him".
And Kimberley Stewart, Ruby's half-sister, and the first of Rod's children to make him a grandfather, joked: "Def has the Stewart nose."
Rod, 77, became a grandfather for the first time in 2011, aged 66, when Kimberley, now 43, had a daughter with actor Benicio Del Toro.
Rod has won a Grammy and a Brit Award in a 61-year musical career which also saw him voted No 33 in Q Magazine's Top 100 Greatest Singers of all time.
He was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and UK Music Hall of Fame as a solo artist, and the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for a second time, as a member of Faces.
