Rochelle Humes says husband Marvin changed her life with 'weird' piece of advice

Rochelle Humes has revealed the life-changing thing husband Marvin taught her.

The former Saturdays singer turned TV presenter has been married to the JLS star for 10 years and they share three children, Alaia, nine, Valentina, five, and Blake, who is almost two.

But the 33-year-old says she is still learning new things about her husband every day – something she describes as “exciting”.

She says it was Marvin who introduced her to manifesting and shared how they use it in everyday life and to set their goals for the future.

Perhaps it’s a mix of hard work and positive mindset that has also helped Rochelle become a published author, campaigner for Black women’s rights and business owner of family skin and hair products, My Little Coco.

“Marv won’t mind me saying, as it’s trendy now, but it was a bit weird at the time,” Rochelle said in an interview with Grazia magazine.

“He would go to these seminars with [motivational speaker] Tony Robbins. He really got me into it and since then I’ve made lists and vision boards."

Explaining one of their couple’s rituals, Rochelle shared: “Now every New Year’s Day we watch The Secret [by Rhonda Byrne]. I know it’s random, but it’s easier to digest than the book. So we watch that and then set our intentions for the year.”

Manifesting is a self-help exercise where you think aspirational thoughts with the purpose of making them real.

It’s popular among celebrities including Oprah Winfrey – who became America’s first Black female billionaire.

Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, Jim Carrey and Will Smith are also fans of the mindful practice.

Also going by the term Law of Attraction – an idea sparked by wellness guru, inspirational speaker and author Esther Hicks – it claims that everyone can attract the lifestyle of their dreams.

Chat show queen Oprah, 68, swears by the practice and says: “The way you think creates reality for yourself.”

She credits the technique with helping her land her breakout acting role in Steven Spielberg’s 1985 film The Color Purple.

Poker Face singer and A Star Is Born actress Lady Gaga says she manifested fame and fortune for herself.

In a 2011 interview she revealed she repeated the affirmation to herself over and over that she was famous.

While actor Jim Carrey said he wrote himself a cheque for $10million in 1985, post-dating it 10 years in the future and envisioned himself as a megastar.

Nine years later he was worth even more thanks to hit films like The Mask and Dumb And Dumber.
