Dubai has once again turned to cutting-edge technology to enhance public safety, this time along its coastline. In a regional first, authorities have introduced aquatic rescue robots and aerial water-rescue drones across public beaches to assist lifeguards and respond faster to emergencies at sea. The initiative reflects the emirate’s broader strategy of combining artificial intelligence and robotics with traditional safety systems to protect residents and tourists enjoying its popular beaches.
Developed as part of a new technology-driven coastal safety framework, the system integrates advanced robotics, drones, monitoring tools and trained lifeguards into a single response network designed to prevent drowning incidents and improve rescue efficiency.
