Queen's Park have announced the appointment of Robin Veldman as their new boss.
The Glasgow-based club had one of their strongest seasons in years as the campaign came to a close in May, and they would have won back-to-back promotions had they beaten Dundee on the final day - though a 5-3 loss consigned them to the play-offs. Then, a bizarre 8-3 aggregate defeat to inner-city rivals Partick Thistle in the quarter-final first leg saw their season fizzle out in dramatic circumstances, and from there on changes at the club were visible - with manager Owen Coyle stepping down as a result.
That has given the chance for someone new and full of different ideas to take the reigns in alignment with the club's vision for the future, and it seems that Veldman could well bring about new changes after being appointed on a three-year deal.

He said: “From the first moment I contacted the club I got a warm feeling.
"Both Queen’s Park and I are hungry to perform well. Last season the club was close to promotion, but our goal is to achieve success with attractive, dominant football.
"That’s what we’re going for. The vision to field young players, in an attractive playing style, appeals to me enormously.”
Veldman joins after being assistant manager at Belgian giants Anderlecht last season, where he enjoyed two months at the helm following the sacking of Felice Mazzu in October. He won three of his six games in charge of the club, including winning in the Europa Conference League and the Belgian Cup.
Alongside his experience at arguably Belgium's biggest club, Veldman worked in the Ajax youth system to join the Dutch revolution at Lesser Hampden, with Marijn Beuker already acting as director of football.
