Robert Pattinson reveals how he got in shape for The Batman

Robert Pattinson has admitted he went to great lengths to get into shape before filming scenes in The Batman.

The actor, 35, said he had to watch his diet and he was even “counting sips of water” ahead of shooting scenes where he was shirtless in the film.

It took months for the Twilight star to prepare his body for the title role with Pattinson joking, “shame is my biggest motivator, 100 per cent.”

He recently told People on the red carpet at The Batman premiere in New York City: “I had about three months before the movie started, and then you’re working out before and after work all the time.

“You just cut down and cut down and cut down before the couple of scenes with your shirt off, and you’re counting sips of water.”

Losing weight for roles is something the Hollywood actor has done before so it’s no surprise he challenged himself with The Batman part.

In 2016, he dropped down to a 28 inch waist because he said he was eating “literally eaten nothing” ahead of his part in The Lost City of Z.

Among them, Zoë Kravitz played Catwoman and Paul Dano took on the role of the villain the Riddler.

Speaking recently, the Big Little Lies star Kravitz said she was thrilled to work alongside Pattinson as she gushed over the “brave” and “bold” actor.

She told reporters on the red carpet: “He’s such a kind person and such an amazing actor. I think he makes such brave and bold choices.

“He’s also just a fun human being and it’s hard to find that combination of somebody who is so light and funny and also so good at what they do.”
