A seven-year-old Class I student walked into the district magistrate’s Janata Darbar in Mau on Monday morning with a problem she wanted the administration to address. The poor condition of the road leading to her school was making her daily commute difficult, with children reportedly getting hurt and their uniforms covered in mud.
Samra Naz, a student at a private school in Ward 17 of the Mau municipal area, arrived at the district headquarters with her father while wearing her school uniform.
During the public hearing, District Magistrate Anand Vardhan noticed the young student and asked her why she had come. After learning that she had brought a complaint, he spoke with her separately and patiently listened to what she had to say.
