Riyad Mahrez believes Manchester City must hit the ground running if they are to keep up their Premier League title defence.
Over six weeks since their last Premier League outing, City will return to league action on Wednesday when they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United. However, the Blues will go into the game at least five points behind table-toppers Arsenal, who face West Ham on Boxing Day evening.
Not being top of the pile at this time of year is not unusual for City, and the Gunners' superb start to the season means ten wins from 14 matches has not been enough to put City in the driving seat.
