Rishi Sunak has resigned as Chancellor of the Exchequer after bumping heads with Boris Johnson over a joint speech.
The former chancellor posted his resignation letter publicly on Twitter on Monday, July 5, and said he realised their approaches were "fundamentally too different". He claims he realised this when the pair were writing a joint speech on the economy ahead of a meeting next week.
He also added he understood it may be his last ministerial job, but he believed certain standards "are worth fighting".
