Interim manager Ralf Rangnick has been slammed by Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand for speaking out in the media about his concerns at the club. Before the alarming defeat to Brighton on Saturday afternoon Rangnick made claims that his attempts to sign a striker were blocked by the United board in January.
Among the reported targets at that time was Liverpool star Luis Diaz — who has been a shining light at Anfield since his £40.5million transfer from Porto. Beyond that, Rangnick has publicised other issues, including his spat with Jesse Lingard after the player's brother's social media post.
Lingard's brother, Louie Scott, ranted about Rangnick and United on social media after the England player was denied a farewell appearance at Old Trafford against Brentford on Monday. It was an exchange Rangnick addressed during his pre-match press conference for the Brighton game.
