Rio Ferdinand has trolled Jamie Carragher with a cheeky four-word dig on social media after the two pundits found themselves embroiled in a high-profile and public spat.
Given their affiliation to Manchester United and Liverpool respectively, Ferdinand and Carragher might never see eye-to-eye on all matters relating to the beautiful game - but their relationship hit a stumbling block over the last few days after Carragher seemingly called Ferdinand a "clown".
Carragher took aim at Ferdinand when AC Milan were awarded an overturned penalty during the Champions League semi-final opener with neighbours Inter Milan. Ferdinand reckoned the spot-kick ought to have stood, but Carragher wholeheartedly disagreed.

Ferdinand, 44, brushed off the "clown" statement on his popular FIVE podcast, and that appeared to be that. Well that was until the former United captain poked fun at Carragher, 45, following their pre-game exchange while waiting for Manchester City and Real Madrid to kick-off.
In a short video which has surfaced on social media, BT Sport pundit Ferdinand walks over to the CBS Golazo panel - including Carragher - to shake hands and embrace with Thierry Henry. Initially, though, he side-stepped Carragher who was left looking "red faced" according to Ferdinand.

However, following that potentially tense moment, the two eventually shared a laugh and a joke followed by a pitch-side hug. Ferdinand then cheekily took matters on to his Twitter account, as City and Madrid got down to business at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
Uploading the clip, he added a four-word caption: "Why the red face!!?? @Carra23" with Carragher appearing to have caught some pre-match sun. Ferdinand added two emojis to his post, which has already drawn in lots of likes, responses and re-tweets from Twitter followers and users.
