Rio Ferdinand has stated why Fabinho was at fault for Alexander Isak's goal against Liverpool to open the scoring.
Liverpool were lackadaisical in defence, although dominating possession they were unable to create much in the way of chances, becoming frustrated.
And Newcastle looked dangerous on the counter attack, with a number promising chances before Liverpool fell asleep defensively.

Trent Alexander-Arnold gave the ball away with a wayward pass, before the Reds were able to regroup. However, a ball into Isak's feet was played back to midfield with the striker making a run in behind the defence.
Fabinho had stepped up, with Virgil van Dijk pulled out to cover for Andy Robertson, and Ferdinand has claimed that Fabinho was the man at fault.
He said: "You got to get out there but then you’ve got players filling in in there like Henderson and Fabinho to play their role. Fabinho comes out to it as he would do as a midfielder but without a centre-back, you have to play the centre-back role, he jumps out too soon and it’s an exquisite finish."
