Right Said Fred to play gig at Heaton Buffs club 30 years after topping charts

In one of the most surprising bits of gig news so far in 2022, Right Said Fred are getting ready to perform in Heaton, 30 years on from topping the charts.

The du, made up of brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass shot to chart fame in the early 90s when I'm Too Sexy peaked at number 2, staying there for six weeks behind Bryan Adams' long-running number 1 single Everything I Do. Follow up Don't Talk Just Kiss followed into the top three later that year, before Right Said Fred scored their first and only number 1 in 1992 with Deeply Dippy.

Other hits over the years include Comic Relief single Stick it Out and international anthem You're My Mate and in 2017 they appeared as surprising co-writers on the credits of Taylor Swift song Look What You Made Me Do, with that track using parts of the melody of I'm Too Sexy.
