The fall out from the slap seen around the world doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon.
During last night's 94th Academy Award ceremony, comedian and host Chris Rock took things a little too far for Will Smith's liking. During a stand-up set, the Grown Ups star made a joke over Will's wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith's, alopecia, a condition that causes your hair to fall out.
On stage, Chris said: "Jada, can't wait for GI Jane 2." After cameras panned to Will Smith laughing, a few seconds later the star climbs onto the stage and slaps Chris across the face before shouting "Keep my wife's name out your f****** mouth" from his seat.

Following a Twitter storm, some viewers wanted to see what Ricky Gervais made of the incident due to the nature of his jokes. Ricky has made headlines constantly for his jokes at the Golden Globes which he has hosted multiple times.
One Twitter user wrote: "Oh so someone could have slapped Ricky Gervais this whole time" and another said: "@rickygervais ripped everyone at the Oscars a few years ago and no one got up and slapped him. Poor Chris Rock".
Whilst the The Office star hasn't made a direct comment on the night's events, his liked tweets are speaking volumes. The 60-year-old liked a tweet saying: "Will Smith owes Chris Rock a huge apology. There is no excuse for what he did. He’s lucky Chris is not filing assault charges. The excuses he made tonight were b******t" He also liked a tweet saying: "After all the initial joking I hope Will Smith has to return his Oscar. His behaviour was unacceptable. He's a bully and deserves to be punished."
Another tweet also said: "A lot of actors don’t understand comedy or irony or words". Gervais has yet to publicly make a statement about the attack." Despite the violent moment, host Chris Rock will not be pressing charges.
A full statement from the Los Angeles Police Department said: "LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program. The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.”
Whilst many have been split on the CODA actor's actions and whether they were warranted, an alopecia charity has said it is 'unacceptable to make jokes such as Chris''.
Alopecia UK said in a statement: "We understand the difficult emotions that people affected by alopecia may feel, including loved ones of people with the condition. In a world where it's unacceptable to make jokes about someone's race, sexuality or disability, we believe the same should apply to jokes about visible difference. Such remarks or jokes should be called out as unacceptable or inappropriate."
