Rich Paul says Stephen A. Smith lied when the ESPN personality said he told the famed sports agent to “get the f--- out my face.”
During an appearance on the Gil’s Arena podcast, the panel played a sound bite from Paul George’s Podcast P, where Smith told a story about an interaction he had with Paul. In the audio clip, Smith said he had a conversation with Paul in which he said LeBron James is the second-best player in NBA history behind only Michael Jordan. Smith proceeded to say that Paul called it an insult to James, his longtime friend, and Smith recalled that he responded with some vulgarity.
“I said get the f--- out my face,” Smith said. “That’s exactly what I said to him.”
Meanwhile live on the podcast, Paul had a one-word response to Smith’s recollection of the conversation.
“Cap,” slang indicating that Smith lied.
“Anybody in the world [that] know me, he’s not gonna say that to me,” Paul said.
Paul went on to explain that he and Smith are friends, but added, “There’s no such thing as get the f--- out my face, no.”
