The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah has officially been released from prison after serving 33 months for her role in a nationwide fraud telemarketing scheme.
Shah, who appeared on three seasons of the Bravo reality show, was seen departing the Federal Prison Camp in Texas overnight, almost three years after she was incarcerated in February, 2023.
The departure comes after Shah’s original six-and-a-half year sentence was reduced multiple times throughout her stay. It was first decreased by a year just one month into her sentence back in 2023, before two more reductions in October 2024 and January 2025.

Shah’s final sentence reduction came last month, with the Federal Bureau of Prisons attributing the commuted time to Shah’s good behaviour, participation in prison programs, and the financial payments made to victims
In total, the reality star was ordered to pay $6.5 million ($9.7 million AUD) in restitution.
It’s not yet known where Shah is heading after her prison release, but footage shows her greeting her family members while departing the prison — which is notable for housing fellow notorious inmates Ghislaine Maxwell and Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos infamy.
“Everyone’s very grateful for the [Bureau of Prisons’] decision, especially because it means Jen will be able to reunite with her family for the holidays,” Shah’s manager Chris Giovanni told PEOPLE.
“It’s a gift she doesn’t take for granted. She’s done a lot of reflecting and real growth during her time away, and is genuinely not the same woman as she was before,” he added.
Shah’s sentencing was issued after she was found guilty of defrauding thousands of victims, including elderly people, via a telemarketing scheme that stretched nearly a decade and was co-orchestrated by her assistant Stuart Smith.
The arrest and guilty plea played out on seasons two and three of RHOSLC, but fans of Shah shouldn’t hold their breath for a post-prison return.
Bravo top dog Andy Cohen has rejected the idea of Shah rejoining the Housewives universe on multiple occasions since her incarceration, but that doesn’t prohibit her from other reality TV ventures.
If you ask me, her story has TLC docuseries written all over it. But until then, Housewives fans can still get their Salt Lake fix with the currently airing sixth season.
Somehow, on that batshit show, Shah’s arrest is just one of multiple truly unhinged moments.
