On a day where the Australians in the Sydney crowd have had plenty to cheer, the loudest of all came during the final welcome of one of its favourite sons.

Not even their appreciation for the masterful innings of Travis Head matched the enthusiasm shown on Tuesday for the entrance of Usman Khawaja in what may prove his final Test innings.
