RESTRICTIONS are planned on a number of Glasgow’s roads over the next few weeks as filming for a new BBC comedy series takes place.
Shooting of the six-part show Dinosaur has already got under way in the city, and the council has confirmed the closures required until September 11.
Dinosaur is the latest series from Two Brother Pictures, the team behind Fleabag, Back to Life and The Tourist — and will be shown on BBC Three and BBC Scotland.
Created by Matilda Curtis and Ashley Storrie, the series will follow Nina (Storrie), an autistic woman in her 30s, who adores her life living with her sister and best friend Evie, the BBC has said.
When Evie rushes into an engagement after only six weeks and makes Nina her maid of honour, Nina is “forced to reconcile with her sister’s impulsive decision”. “Nina grapples with what this new challenge means, leading to a surprising journey of self-discovery.”
The show stars Kat Ronney as Evie as well as David Carlyle (It’s A Sin), Lorn Macdonald (BEATS, Bridgerton) and Danny Ashok (Roadkill).
Still Game’s Greg Hemphill and Sanjeev Kohli and River City’s Sally Howitt will have supporting roles.
Road restrictions will apply to all vehicles except emergency services or those given permission from the council’s filming and events section.
Restrictions will be in place at:
- Banavie Road between Hayburn Street and property number 21: From 7pm on September 6 until 11.59pm on September 11, prohibition of waiting, loading and unloading
- Banavie Road between Hayburn Street and property number 21: From 7am on September 11 until 7pm on September 11, prohibition of vehicle movements
- Hyndland Street between Caird Drive and Hyndland Road (west side only): From 7pm on August 20 until 7pm on August 24, prohibition of waiting, loading and unloading
- Caird Drive between property number 12 to 4 (loop road only): From 7am on August 21 until 7am on August 24, prohibition of vehicle movements
